Jakarta Dec 05As US stocks in the USA continue to dwindle, the Ministry of Trade in Indonesia has not yet published the percentage of export quota assigned to each of the licensed exporters (ET holders). As a result the provincial trade office has not been able to issue PE recommendations. The PE (Export Permit) is the second step in allowing export and is required for every subsequent shipment.

It is rumored that the Ministry of Trade will appoint a surveyor on December 19th. Sucofindo is supposed to be the official government surveyor that will give the final approval (LS) for each export. The (LS) process entails sampling for each shipment which is then submitted to their lab for testing of microbials and heavy metals.

Each shipment to be exported must have all three license and permits, (ET, PE, LS) in order to be exported.

According to Mr. Eko from the Ministry, if all goes well exports will resume in January 2025. The situation in Indonesia remains fluid as things change on a day to day basis. One thing however is clear which is the price of kratom in the US has increased as a result of these measures.
